NAS direct connection to MacBook Pro

#1
hi there,
I’ve been viewing you vid hoping you’ve covered an issue that I’m having but as of yet can’t find a solution. I recently bought the Drivestore 4 Pro (AS3304T) and the USB link (AS-U2.5G2). My plan is to plug it directly into the MacBook and use it only as a backup/storage solution. Not wanting to connect it to my router if possible. Asustor told me to change the IP of the usb which I did but it sees the device but everything Is greyed out. The Asustor control centre app just shows the device with nothing else clickable. Can’t get any further.
Have you guys done a vid covering a direct connect on the Mac platform? This is driving me nuts.

If you have can you provide link.

It’d be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you will need to set a manual IP on your asustor NAS. Make sure the last number is high enough to avoid a situation of IP conflict.
We have a manual for Synology here. But steps are very similar to Asustor https://nascompares.com/answer/can-i-con...pc-or-mac/

I hope this helps.
