DX517 now or wait for update?

Hello,

I have a DS920+ that is filling up and I want to get more bays. So my choices are either get a 6 or 8 bay, add the DX517 expansion, or wait for a future expansion. I was thinking since the DX517 is so old should I just wait? Is there any possibility this would be updated or should I just go ahead and buy it? Doing the DX517 would be the cheapest way to expand for now. Thanks so much for your advice!

The expansion units are not suposed to be updated. This is a simple box with a SATA cable that connects to the main box. That's all it is.
The NAS itself is the control centre. Adding drives few expansion is a sensible thing to do.
