NAS + HDDs

Hello Guys,

I am wondering if you know of a Black Friday sale on the following products to use your affiliate link and to support your channels as you guys rock!

I am a photographer and video enthusiast and thinking to buy 1 of these:

Synology DS1621xs+ (probably too expensive)

And I have 2x WD Red 4TB old NAS drives
And potentially buy 2 More
2 x WD Red 8TB
And use them in Raid 10 or Raid 1 configuration until the 4 TB drives die and replace them with 8 TB and use the 4 x 8TB drives in Raid 5 configuration.

So, what do you think?

Yes, Qnap ts-464 and ds920+ will perform very similarly when streaming multimedia.
You will notice a difference when you want to achieve faster file transfer speeds. Qnap will win in that battle.
DS1621xs+ is a very powerful NAS. In fact, faster than all other models mentioned. But it only supports a short list of HDDs. And there is no drive mixing option.
RAID5 is all you need.
