TVS-h1688X

#1
Hello, I already have a QNAP NAS (TVS-EC1080+) that i have had for years now. It hosts my data and also plex plus plex content. It currently has 9x16TB ironwolf pro hard disks in a RAID6 configuration.
Obviously, it's now getting quite old in terms of Transcoding, and I am planning to upgrade to the TVS-h1688X.
Now I am aware of the advantages of the QUTS Hero OS however with my current 16TB disks, I would rather not have to purchase new expensive drives in order to migrate so i am thinking to install the standard QTS on the new NAS and ensure the old NAS is running the same release and insert the old/current disks into the new NAS with the same disk sequence. Have you seen or heard this done successfully? I have googled to no avail.

Yes, you can move those drives over to new 88X series. As long as both NAS are running on QTS this should work just fine https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/nas-migration...tvs-h1688x

I hope this helps.
