Home & Car Security

#1
Hi,

Looking for a security system for Home & Business. Need to catch someone keying my car repeatedly.

Two strategically placed dash cams inside the car would give you basic cover and might be enough to catch the culprit.

Alternatively Reolink offers a host of cameras that can pick up motion triggered recording or 24/7 monitoring. Depending on where you want them mounted will determine if they are capable of 24/7 recording.

In short, battery / solar / 4g LTE cameras do motion recording to a micro SSD inside the camera. Choosing powered cameras (USB or PoE) and you can just leave them running. Recording to the micro SSD in a newest recording overwrites oldest fashion, or by network connecting them to a central storage device. You can also add PTZ cameras for scanning round, for example if your car isn't always parked in the same space.

Recording options are to an NVR or to a NAS solution like QNAP with Surveillance Station or QVR Pro monitoring software. Either way you're going to be needing a nearby network you can plug into for each site...

Setting up an entire home & work security system (assuming they're not the same site) could be quite costly depending on how many cameras you need and how determined you are to record all footage for later review.

Whatever solution you opt for - I hope this information was useful, but more importantly that you catch them.
