NAS for home

#1
I want to set up a NAS for my home network. I have multiple HDD's full of media (Photos, Films, Music etc) as well as all my usual home documents. I would like to put them all together. So I can access from anywhere and also view media on my tv, music on my amp etc. I don't really know where to start, will my Sky router/modem be okay or do I need to upgrade to a differenet router and is there a specific type of NAS that would suit my needs?

Thanks for any help.

There is no need for a different router. All you need is a multimedia-friendly NAS. This can be simple ds118/ ds218play. It will allow you to stream media locally as well as remotely using Synology apps. If you prefer apps like Plex, then ds220+/ ds720+ will be a better choice and will have more functionality.

I hope this helps.
