WI FI card for QNAP NAS

#1
Hi,
I am planning to purchase a QNAP TVS-472XT. I have a couple fo questions.

1. Can I use it as a wireless NAS by installing either the QNAP QXP-W6-AX200 wifi 6 card or the QNAP QWA-AC2600 cards? This means that the NAS is not connected by wire to the home router.

2. If yes, which of the two cards is better?

3. If no (meaning it is connected to the router by wire, can I use to wirelessly back up my computer or retrieve files on the NAS. Which card would be better?

Thank you.

Cheers,
Sandeep

Yes, you can make your NAS wireless. When choosing the best card. It depend what your network is like. If your router is WiFI 5 then there is no difference in which card you choose. This is your bottleneck. But if you have wifi 6 router then choosing wifi 6 card will make more sense.

QXP-W6-AX200
up to 2400Mbps connection speed which is 2.8 times faster than Wi-Fi 5(802.11ac).

QWA-AC2600
supports up to 2533 Mbps (800 Mbps for IEEE 802.11n (2.4 GHz) and 1733 Mbps for IEEE 802.11ac (5 GHz)).
