RS217 Replacement?

Hi, love your site and youtube channel , fantastic detailed information, and had been quite helpful. Based on your recommendations, I bought a Synology DS720+ with SSD M2 Cache and 6TB worth of drives. It runs great, and looking forward to installed DSM 7.0 when its out of beta.

That being said, I would love to have a rack mount NAS, to simplify things, I love the look and size of the Synology DS217, but not the horsepower, and middling performance. Are you aware that there will be a performance version coming in the near future ?

This is an excellent choice. Unfortunately, Synology is not planning to release Celeron based Rackmount. If you have a rack, the best you can do is put a desktop NAS in there.The only chance would be Qnap TS-453Be / D series rack which features the same processor.I hope this helps.
