WD100EFAX?

#1
The big question is about 10TB WD red 10TB WD100EFAX!

By letter 'A' it is a strong index that WD100EFAX is a SMR Disk! - also the cache size is 256MB!!

In contrast WD writes 'above 8TB' all WD RED are PMR, CMR.

Synology lists WD100EAFX as incompatible for a RS2414RP!!!

could you clarify about WD100EFAX is SMR or TRUE PMR?

Thanks

WD WD100EFAX would be compatible with RS2414RP, but it is not recommended to use these drives. Anything above 8 bays should be used with Pro/ Enterprise drives.WD100EFAX is a CMR drive. You can find more info here:https://nascompares.com/answer/how-to-tell-a-difference-between-dm-smr-and-non-smr-cmr-drives-hdd-compare/I hope this helps.
