Using Mac Time machine with Offsite Synology?

Need to have back up option for daughter who is going to university for Mac laptop. Can do initial backup locally, but when at university back ups would be over the internet.

I would recommend Synology J series NAS. It is cheap but very reliable and esy to use. There is DS120j as a one drive option, or DS220j if you want to mirror both disks and protect it against hard drive failure. Synology quick-connect will ensure all your data is automatically backed up locally as well as remotely.

How do I use Quick Connect to create access to the NAS from Time Machine? I can log in through Safari, but I need to be able to select a disk from Time Machine.
