Strictly Plex NAS? - Enquiries - 02-28-2020

Wondering why the WD PR4100 dropped off your top list?

In a comparison with the Synology 918+ if you were simply using the NAS for Plex which would you prefer?

Am only really looking at max. 2 streams playing at once and I have a 4k smart TV that ill be streaming too.

thanks!

WD seem to stagnate and not innovate much. For that reason, their NAS have been pushed out. But if it is still available, Pentium CPU will do a good job of transcoding several HD streams, just like DS918+. Streaming locally will have no issues at all with even more streams. If not, you can always use Synology offline transcoding function to prepare video versions for all devices in your network.I hope this helps.
