Which NAS system for video editing? - Enquiries - 08-10-2023

Hi!

My team and I are looking for a portable NAS storage system. We want to be able to transfer footage from cameras to one system that ~4 editors can edit from at the same time.

Ideally, this system would be small enough to bring with us on shoots.

Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Thanks!

For your video editing needs with portability in mind, I recommend considering the QNAP TVS-674 with a Thunderbolt version coming soon or the Synology DS1823xs+. Both of these NAS systems offer robust performance and the capability to handle simultaneous editing tasks from multiple editors.

The QNAP TVS-674 with Thunderbolt provides high-speed connectivity, making it ideal for video editing on the go, while the Synology DS1823xs+ boasts a powerful AMD Ryzen V1780B processor and 10GbE support for efficient data transfer.

These options should serve you well, providing the necessary performance and scalability for your editing team, and ensuring your system remains relevant for the next few years as well. If you need further assistance or have more specific requirements, feel free to ask.
