Synology DS920+ HDD compatibility - Enquiries - 07-14-2023

Trying to get my hands on a brand new DS920+ and was wondering if I can put 4x Seagate EXOS X16 14TB ST14000NM001G SATA CMR 3.5" Enterprise HDD OEM on it?

Synology website isn't clear about compatibility of this drive.

It doesn't say that it's compatible with DS920+ nor it says that it's incompatible!??!?

Any thoughts?

Cheers from Australia,
Kaveh

Yes, you can use the Seagate EXOS X16 14TB ST14000NM001G SATA CMR 3.5" Enterprise HDD OEM with the DS920+. While Synology may not explicitly list every compatible drive on their website, the DS920+ supports standard SATA drives, and compatibility should not be an issue.

It's important to note that Synology cannot test every drive model available on the market, but as long as the drive follows standard specifications, it should work seamlessly with the DS920+. In some cases, you may see a warning message indicating that the drive is not on Synology's official list, but this warning can be disabled via SSH if you encounter it.

Presumably this also holds true for the DS1522+?
