I was about to buy either the Synology DS423+ or Qnap TS464. Then I saw this!!!! Cost not withstanding would I be better off with this for plex server and home file storage? I do not use the nas externally just within my home network. I could use six 4TB Gen 3 NvMe drives? and get ~20TB at RAID 5? Since it is a home unit noise is a consideration.

Yes, this could be a great choice for your local plex server and other things. Thanks to NVMe, this can be a silent setup. You can use 3 NVMe at the start and add more when you need more space. This NAS comes with Gen3 slots. You need 3 SSD for RAID5.
