Great that there are people who can help an amateur like me out with everything related to NAS. I am considering to buy a NAS, I am inclined to Synology due to the software. However, I'm open for other brands. The two use cases I have (for now) are:

But you can do a backup manually by downloading files and copying them to a NAS. You can go for plus series models such as DS423+ that support Active backup for business. This tool is as close you can get to automation. Also, a transcoding engine will be handy to have. |
