NAS Setup Advice - Enquiries - 04-07-2023 We have two parts of our business that we'd like to setup to store and share files. The first is AutoCAD Revit files. Our designers will be sharing and working on design files stored on NAS. Then we have a large amount of TB of video files. We have a YouTube channel and we'd like a place to store and access these files both on location but also remotely when traveling. Our current project Final Cut files will be stored locally and then moved to the NAS once complete. However, we occasionally need to access older files for a current project. RE: NAS Setup Advice - ed - 04-11-2023 I would recommend something with a Celeron chip such as and older ds1520+ or DS423+. But if you need an 8 bay and a transcoding feature then Qnap tvs-h874 would be the best choice. It also supports GPU card upgrades. Synology DS1821+ only support 1080p video transcoding. I hope this helps. |
