Maximal capacity of storage. - Enquiries - 03-12-2023 Good evening, As I saw video comparing Synology 2 bay NASes, thing that bothering me is maximal capacity of discs. In video is 18/20TB max and my question is: 18/20TB per disc or for device at all. As I am considering buying NAS with wish of having mirored 2x16TB (32TB in total), or even 2x20TB (40TB in total), I would like to know if device going to handle this. Thank You in advance, Regards, Lucas RE: Maximal capacity of storage. - ed - 03-17-2023 Yes, Synology will only allow their HDDs as maximum capacity - their marketing trick. But we have used 20TB drives and they work just fine (WD Red, Ironwolf). They might scaremonger you with some warnings though. |
