QNAP TS-264-8G
as for heatsinks for the M.2 NVMe SSDs (2X 970_EVO_plus_500GB):
- what's the max. height?
- any recommended heatsink?
- or should I get those small ones similar to what comes with other QNAP models? especially that i've read we should cool the controller not the NANDs (I'de really like your opinion on that)..

There is not much space for the heatsink. Practically you need to use the ones included with Qnap or Samsung if supplied https://download.qnap.com/Storage/TechnicalDocument/Storage/SMB%20NAS/ts-x62&x64/ts-x62&x64-ug-en-us.pdfWe have not seen a need for one with gen4 SSD.
