First NAS - Enquiries - 02-23-2023 Thanks in advance. The three main uses for our NAS would be: Backup, serving media and synchronising email (so we can see the same emails in Outlook on different laptops). RE: First NAS - ed - 02-24-2023 The Synology DS220+ could be a good choice for your needs. It is a two-bay NAS that is capable of running multiple applications, including backup and media serving. It also has built-in support for Synology's MailPlus package, which allows for email synchronization between devices. The DS220+ is powered by an Intel Celeron J4025 processor and comes with 2GB of DDR4 memory, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 6GB. This should be sufficient for your needs, but if you plan on running more demanding applications or serving multiple clients, you may want to consider upgrading the memory. The DS220+ also supports various RAID configurations, including RAID 0, 1, and JBOD. This will allow you to set up a backup system for your important data. Additionally, it has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, which can be configured for link aggregation or failover, providing increased network speed and redundancy. Overall, the DS220+ is a solid choice for a small business or home office environment looking for a reliable and versatile NAS solution. |
