First NAS? - Enquiries - 02-28-2020 Hi, I am looking to get my first NAS for home data(multiple laptops, windows, mac), media server & surveillance. I am close to pulling the trigger on Synology 218+ what are your thoughts & do you this can work for my needs for next 4 to 5 years? Thanks, First NAS? - ed - 02-11-2021 Synology DS218+ is a very good NAS. If you do not plan to use it for Plex then, yes it can last for 4-5 years easily. I am talking to people on a weekly basis where their NAS is even 10years old. And all they want is a media upgrade. My choice for futureproofing would be DS718+ because of expansion and dual LAN as extra CPU power. But DS218+ is surely a good choice.I hope this helps. |
