mynas.local using SSL? - Enquiries - 12-27-2022

Hi,

How do you setup a NAS Synology DS720+ NAS 16TB so I can use SSL on my local domain (https://mynas.local)

If I try generating a certificate it says its invalid, any help I would be very grateful.

Thankyou

To set up SSL on your Synology NAS, you will need to follow these steps:

Make sure your Synology NAS is connected to the internet and is accessible from a web browser.

Login to the Synology NAS as an administrator and go to the Control Panel.

In the Control Panel, go to the "Security" section and click on the "Certificate" tab.

Click on the "Add" button to create a new certificate.

Select "Import a certificate signed by a CA" and click "Next".

Enter the necessary information for your certificate, including the common name (e.g. mynas.local), the organization name, and the email address.

Click on "Import" to import the certificate.

Once the certificate is imported, you can enable SSL for your Synology NAS by going to the "Control Panel" > "Security" > "Web Server" and checking the box next to "Enable SSL".

Finally, you will need to configure your router to forward traffic to your Synology NAS. This will allow you to access your NAS using the SSL certificate from a web browser.

I hope this helps!
