NAS Upgrade - Enquiries - 12-27-2022

I currently have a WD MyCloud EX2 Ultra with 8 TB of Hard drive storage. I use it mainly for Plex, back ups and some file storage. I like being able to remotely access it but with some of the recent ransomeware issues going on, I don't know which one to upgrade to. I've watched some of your videos but was wondering if you could steer me in the right direction. I'm also somewhat tech savvy so configuring a new device shouldn't be problematic. Thanks.

Actually, WD NAS is most secure against ransomware. Simply because they don't let anyone access the control panel from outside your network. You can access your files remotely, but no configuration is allowed.
Synology will be the second-best choice. Any plus series will be good decision.
With Qnap Celeron based models with this security steps would make a good setup https://nascompares.com/2022/10/21/qnap-nas-security-check-list-23-different-ways-to-secure-your-nas/

I hope this helps.
