HA + surveillance - Enquiries - 12-10-2022

I am looking at getting a Synology DS220+ but am wanting to be able to use it to it's fullest. Will I be able to run Home Assistant on a VM plus have surveillance software running on two cameras?

Yes, you can do so. DS720+ has 2 extra CPU cores and might become cheaper since ds723+ is coming out soon.
Either way, you can record surveillance and use VM at the same time. If you want a faster performance on dual-core model, consider an SSD in bay one. And HDD in bay 2. But you need a backup for this setup.

I hope this helps.
