NAS for 4k video editing team - Enquiries - 11-30-2022 Hello, Been watching a few of your videos, we're looking for our first NAS so that the editing team can better work on the videos we product. I've been finding accurate information difficult to obtain, so I really appreciate you providing this type of service. Our editing team has at this moment 3 editors, with the prospect of getting a few more people in the next 1 to 2 years. I think our doubt is more if the CPU can handle it more than the capacity of the NAS. We were inclined to a NAS like the QNAP TS-435XeU, we do value the rackmount capability. Appreciate if you could give us some hints, Best regards, Eduardo Passos RE: NAS for 4k video editing team - ed - 11-30-2022 With 3 and more 4K video editors, you certainly need to look at Xeon based models such as Qnap 88X series. The 35XeU is a backup NAS. It could cope with one or maybe 2 editors, but not more. Also having NVMe cache/ storage options is very beneficial. Regarding 10GbE. You can have two users per each 10GbE connection. Maybe even consider 25GbE card. Here are few switches https://nascompares.com/2018/01/19/cheapest-10gbe-switches/ I hope this helps. |
