What to buy upgrade - Enquiries - 11-17-2022 Hello, I recently purchased a Asustor Drivestor 4 Pro AS3304T - 4 Bay. I'm not happy with it and I'm thinking of returning it. What would you recommend as a upgrade or replacement? Requirements: 4 bays or more (so I can do RAID 5) SSH access expandable Nice to have: Media server, Jellyfin remote access HDMI output After looking at your channel I'm thinking a QNAP or a higher end Asustor. I want to spend less then 1,000 RE: What to buy upgrade - ed - 11-20-2022 Yes, AS3304T is a quite weak NAS. If you need a multimedia NAS, you should look at Quad core Celeron-based models or better. People love TVS-473A with PCI GPU card. But, you may not need that much performance unless you want to transcode 4k remotely in Plex. Built-in Video apps can handle 4K even in Realtek and Celeron. HDMI NAS only is made by Qnap and Asustor. Have a look at TS-464. I hope this helps. |
