DS923 for photography (Synology Photos) - Enquiries - 11-14-2022 Hi from Belgium! I’m using today a Synology DS418play mainly for Synology Photos (family sharing etc…) but also for Synology Drive (Office family) and backup (Apple devices). I noticed that I don’t use a lot of CPU, but I wonder if the new DS923 would be a better choice? Or should I wait for a DS423 (maybe with Intel processor)? Can you help me with my question? Thank you, Dirk RE: DS923 for photography (Synology Photos) - ed - 11-18-2022 If you only use your NAS locally, things like transcoding are not required. So CPU will stay idle for most of the time. DS923+ compared to ds418play is a weaker NAS regarding multimedia. I would stay with the play model. I hope this helps. |
