New/replacement NAS - Enquiries - 11-07-2022 Hi all. Have been ploughing through your excellent site and reviews. I've exceeded my Netgear Ultra 6 9TB of storage so need another device. Device is used for backing up digital negs, videos, general office docs, PC and laptop backups (Acronis) and music via LMS/Squeezebox devices. I'm leaning towards another 6 drive device for redundancy and probably around the 30TB for future expansion. Any initial thoughts please? RE: New/replacement NAS - ed - 11-11-2022 You could go for DS1621+ or DS1821+ from Synology. You can fill only half of the HDD bays and leave the rest for later expansion. Synology have much better software for backing up your devices. This included MAC, Win and mobile devices. It also replaces Drobox with their Drive app. Active backup for business can do system disk image backups as well as server and virtual machine backups. This is a significant upgrade. I hope this helps. |
