Poor speed using Dual band Sim router - Enquiries - 10-31-2022 Hi lads, wonder if you can spare a moment to help me out. I live on a boat and use a sim router for my internet connection. I have a TP Link MR600 and use an unlimited data sim from superdrug. I use a large external omnidirectional antenna (I cannot for the life of me remember exactly which one, although it certainly wasn't more than a couple hundred quid). I though I had done my homework and got everything setup correctly, yet the fastest speed we have ever seen is about 300kbs which is obviously terribly slow, and the connection cuts out constantly. We live in Lincoln which isn't known for it's incredibly fast internet, but when using 4g on our phones we easily get up to 100 mbs. What am I missing? Cheers Ross RE: Poor speed using Dual band Sim router - ed - 11-01-2022 You may need to investigate potential bottlenecks. What SIM you are using and are there any limits. Superdrug seem to use Three Network to operate, which is fairly fast. If your phone use a different network, you may ask a friend who has Three to test this out. Maybe you should consider 5G https://amzn.to/3WmbIqc I hope this helps. |
