DS923+ vs rackmount Synology - Enquiries - 10-27-2022

So if we now know that the new DS923+ comes with the Ryzen and no integrated video processing, would it just be the same as getting one of the Synology four bay rack mount series anyway? Not that I plan on doing a ton of video streaming, but I was kinda hoping the 923+ would be the ultimate solution. It looks like it's more for just data storage from what I could tell from your videos. In that case should I just get the four bay rackmount, and convert that to 10GBE? I was planning on doing that for the 923+ too.

Thanks,

Rob

Yes, if you have rack cabinet, this makes sense. It is more compact and has exactly the same hardware. And 10GbE upgrade might be even cheaper and better performing compared to M.2 standard.

I hope this helps.
