nas for home use, backups and films - Enquiries - 10-17-2022 What Nas would you choose?? Thanks in advance for answering. RE: nas for home use, backups and films - TribalHound - 10-18-2022 I guess it depends on how many films and how much backup, but with HDDs now available in excess of 20TB, then a 2 bay is enough to get you started. On a budget with just basic functionality in mind - I'd choose between the QNAP TS-251D & Synology DS218 play Wanting a little more from a NAS and something to play around with some more - QNAP TS-253D & Synology DS720+. IF I was new to NAS and just wanted something I'm not wanting to get too involved in, then I'd go down the Synology brand route, but as I'm personally a bit more technical, demand more from my NAS, & I like to try new stuff all the time. I currently own multiple QNAPs, each serves a different function. As for the NAS I'd chose next, well, it probably hasn't been made yet, but the TVS-h674i5 with a RAM upgrade to 64GB would be really quite nice. Hope this helps. |
