Newbie question - Gibsonm - 09-08-2022 I have the DS1821+ under control for file sharing and wanted to start leveraging Plex media server etc. I'm watching this (albeit a little dated): "Synology 2020 NAS PLEX - First Time Setup Guide with the DS420+" (sorry unable to post URL). I've gone to the Plex site to download the latest version and I see this (again unable to post a URL to the image): I've assumed that "x18 series" is not for me and got the 64 Bit option, since "AMD Ryzen V1500B" isn't "Intel" nor "ARM"? I also didn't have a "Plex" user created. Lastly, I now have 2 folders "Plex" and "PlexMediaServer"?? I guess one is surplus? RE: Newbie question - ed - 09-08-2022 Yes, there is no official Plex app for DS1821+ on DSM7. There is one built-in app centre in DSM6 though. Certainly there is no installation file on Plex website just yet for Rzyen CPU. So the best option is to delete what I've installed and wait? There is a beta in the "Package Centre", but not a huge fan of risking my device to bee an unpaid tester. RE: Newbie question - ed - 09-09-2022 If you want an official version, the best you can do now is install it via Docker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSNYTaYW10Y I hope this helps. |
