I've just seen one of your videos for a product I was thinking of purchasing (QNAP TS-453D-4G 4 Bay Desktop NAS Enclosure - Network Storage with 2.5GbE Connectivity, 4GB RAM, Intel Celeron Quad-Core, 2.0GHz Processor at GBP 337.45.

I would like some advice on what you think the best solution is to my problem. I have multiple 5TB and 6TB external hard drives that currently store all of my data. I would like a more robust backup for family photos and videos totalling around 6TB at the moment. I would also like to be able to connect all the mobile devices to the new storage solution in order to use it as an alternative for Google Photos / Amazon Photos.

Total number of users = approx 8. Total number of simultaneous users = approx 3.

If you need any more information, please let me know.

There are two market leaders -Synology with Photos app https://www.synology.com/en-global/DSM70/SynologyPhotos
and Qnap with QuMagie https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/software/qumagie
You will certainly benefit from Celeron based models such as 53D series and Synology plus series.
Synology might be leased with their software. But if you need few extras like object recognition (Synology only do face recognition), then Qnap might be the one for you.
But remote access might be safer with Synology.
I hope this helps.
