New da220+ - Enquiries - 08-26-2022 Hi. I’m upgrading from ds220j to Ds220+ and I’m looking for advice regarding best options. I intend to migrate using hyper backup so I can change to btrfs. I’m also looking to upgrade memory from the outset (crucial branded). Can I install memory before first switch on or should I wailt until new NAS is initialised / raid built? Any thoughts on using hyper backup in this way? Currently only have about 600gb data to migrate. Thanks RE: New da220+ - ed - 08-26-2022 Hyper backup creates a compressed file on the destination device. You will not be able to see those files. I would map an old NAS to a new one and copy-paste data https://nascompares.com/map-network-drive-in-synology/ Or if you have a docking station. You could connect one drive via USB and copy files that way. I would add extra RAM, once the system is set up and running, not before. I hope this helps. |
