BYO NAS , Problem Waking Up - Enquiries - 08-20-2022 I want to Replace My Old DNS-320 ShareCenter. I have all the Goodies to make a Smashing Unit. But Can't figure out How to Wake it up. With the DNS-320, Once you Map your Network Drive ( in this case the nas ) , it's easy to do, just click on it and bingo a couple of seconds later it's awake. Now all this is done without using wake on lan. So my question is how does d-link do it with the dns-320, in windows 10 all i did was map it, no setting up wol. I found setting up wol very picky and a pain to setup, and for me with 6 computers a Pain. I realise a standard computers motherboard is made differently to a nas, but there must be some way wake it up from a normal pc";} RE: BYO NAS , Problem Waking Up - ed - 08-22-2022 If you get MR2200 or other Synology router, you will be able to wake up a NAS via LAN or even over the internet. If you enable drive hibernation, it will automatically go sleep. When you try to open a shared folder, this will wake up those disks. If you need help with your old NAS, try support here https://eu.dlink.com/uk/en/support I hope this helps. |
