Raid-z vs shr (qnap vs synology) in mixed disk size config? - Enquiries - 02-28-2020

Synology's SHR/SHR2 is a compelling feature in that it offers a lower cost of entry with regard to the size of disk drives initial configuration. As storage requirements increase, larger drives can be added without breaking the basic raid configuration.

With QNAP's hero OS does their products now support a mixed drive size configuration like SHR for raid-z and raid-z2

No Qnap does not allow drive mixing like SHR. Also, their new ZFS even does not allow drive replacing with bigger drives without resetting.I hope this helps.
