Non Synology Drives in DX525 - Enquiries - 01-16-2026
Hey there!
I'd like to know if non-Synology hard drives work in the Synology DX525. Unfortunately, Synology's website is pretty vague on this topic.
If non-Synology HDDs do not work in the DX525, I will have to look for alternatives to Synology, as the Seagate 26TB Factory Recertified is not recognised in a DX517 on a DS1821+. These HDDs are recognised without any problems in a DX513 connected to a DS916+. This is really poor performance from Synology!
