Synology Ds2415+ keeps rebooting - Enquiries - 11-27-2025

Hi,

Synology DS2415+ has died - Can I just move drives (WD 6tb Red) to a new Synology?

One morning found my Synology Ds24315+ rebooting on a cycle. I have tried the resistor fix on Connector J6, pins 1 & 6. and battery changed also - seemed ok, for an hour but then shuts down. after a while starts again?!

Regards,

Andy

The good news is that you can move your drives straight into another Synology without data loss. The DS2415+ used standard Synology RAID or SHR, so any similar NAS in the Plus series, whether older or newer, will read the array. Just install the drives in the same order, power on, and the new unit should offer a migrate option immediately.
