TerraMaster F2-424 - Enquiries - 11-24-2025

The two M.2 cache slots on the TerraMaster F2-424 make a huge difference in random read/write performance — it’s noticeably faster than my old four-bay NAS.

Thanks for the message. You are absolutely right, the dual M.2 slots on the F2-424 make a big difference. Even small NVMe drives used as read or read write cache can remove most of the random I/O bottlenecks you normally feel on a small SATA based NAS, especially with lots of small files or active apps. It is a big step up from older four bay units that rely only on HDDs.
