Synology 923+ - Enquiries - 11-07-2025 Novice here. I have a 923+ is there any value / benefit at all in upgrading to 10gb ethernet (e10G22-TI-Mini)? when i am currently on 1 gb service and matching router /switches at home? Thanks Phil RE: Synology 923+ - ed - 11-07-2025 Thanks for the message, Phil. If your entire network (router, switches, and client devices) is currently limited to 1GbE, then upgrading your DS923+ to 10GbE won’t give you any immediate benefit. The NAS can only communicate as fast as the slowest link in the chain, so you’d still be capped at roughly 110 MB/s transfer speeds. However, if you plan to upgrade other parts of your setup later, such as a 10GbE switch or a direct connection to a capable PC or Mac, the Synology 10GbE module (E10G22-T1-Mini) is a worthwhile future-proofing upgrade. It makes large file transfers, photo and video editing, or multi-user workflows much faster once your network supports it. |
