It’ll handle large render files more safely and let you share finished projects easily with clients. Since you want something future-upgradable and fast, I’d look at the latest 2025 models like the Synology DS425+ or QNAP TS-464. Both support 2.5GbE networking for quicker file transfers, and you can start with two drives now and add more later as your storage needs grow. Use Seagate IronWolf or WD Red Plus drives, ideally 10TB or 12TB each to begin with. You can set them in RAID 1 for protection, and upgrade to RAID 5 when you add more disks. These systems also support SSD caching to speed up your workflow when editing or transferring large media files. Both NAS units are reliable, quiet, and built for creative professionals who need fast, shared storage that’s easy to expand later. |
