SSDs Cacheing - Enquiries - 10-10-2025 HI, I am wondering if you can assist me with my Asustor Lockerstor 10 Gen3 NAS issue. Issue: My SSD Cache is no longer accessible. It was working before as an SSD cache. The HDD / SSD cache Volume states the cache is working fine, but the NAS keeps bleeping at me with errors. I have viewed the logs, and the logs say that my SSD cache has been destroyed. The set-up: Volume 1 is set as the boot drive with a RAID 1 configuration. Volume 2 is set as my main Storage pool with read-only SSD Cache. I do have some pctures if you would like some Please advise on how i can resolve this issue thank you RE: SSDs Cacheing - ed - 10-10-2025 It sounds like the SSD cache metadata on your Asustor Lockerstor 10 Gen3 has become corrupted — this can happen after power loss, firmware updates, or when one SSD in the cache pool goes out of sync. When the NAS reports that the cache has been “destroyed,” it usually means the cache volume needs to be rebuilt, not that your data on the HDD volume is lost. Here’s what I’d suggest: 1. Back up any important data from the HDD storage pool first, just to be safe. 2. Go to Storage Manager → Cache Management and remove the existing SSD cache. 3. Once removed, reboot the NAS, then recreate the cache pool (either read-only or read-write depending on use). 4. If one of the SSDs is showing abnormal SMART data or errors, test it using Asustor’s built-in tool or by connecting it to a PC with CrystalDiskInfo. Replace any drive that shows high wear or reallocation counts. 5. After rebuilding, monitor the logs for recurring cache-related warnings — if they persist, it may indicate a firmware or driver issue, and reinstalling ADM or updating to the latest build can help. |
