XCY X108 - Enquiries - 08-29-2025 Hi folks, I've just read an article on lilliputing, about the ; XCY X108 NAS 4/6/8 Bay 2.5/3.5 inch SATA HDD Intel N150 DDR5 M.2 NVMe SSD 10G Ethernet Type-C 1x10gbe, 2x2.5gbe 6bay N150 with 2 nvme, barebones for AU$412.99 seems pretty good to me... So far i have 1 Synolgy, 2 x QNAP, 1 x Unraid DIY. But you can never have too many. Wondering if you guys are looking at testing this unit? Cheers, keep up the great work. RE: XCY X108 - ed - 08-29-2025 Thanks for the heads-up — yes, the XCY X108 has definitely caught our attention recently. That N150 CPU paired with 6 bays, dual NVMe slots, and 10GbE (plus dual 2.5GbE) at that price is incredibly tempting, especially for DIY NAS builders or Proxmox users looking for a compact but capable system. At AU$412.99 (barebones), it’s tough to argue with the value, and it looks like it strikes a nice balance between low power draw, modern I/O, and expandability. As you probably saw in our other reviews (like the CWWK and UGREEN N-series), this new wave of N100/N150/N305-based NAS mini systems are punching well above their weight. We haven’t got our hands on the X108 just yet, but we are actively trying to source one for review. I’ll be putting it through the usual tests — thermal management, SSD/NVMe performance, PCIe mapping (if applicable), and of course, real-world 10GbE throughput. If you decide to go ahead with one in the meantime, I’d be very keen to hear your impressions — especially how the fan noise, drive cage vibrations, and BIOS options behave. These can vary a lot with these AliExpress-based systems. |
