using TS-251+ drives with TS-262 - Enquiries - 03-23-2025 My 251+ has died, can i use the drives in a 262 RE: using TS-251+ drives with TS-262 - ed - 03-28-2025 Yes, you can absolutely reuse the drives from your TS-251+ in the TS-262 — but there are a couple of things to keep in mind: Drive Migration: QNAP supports migrating drives between NAS models as long as they use the same or compatible QTS version. Before moving the drives, make sure the TS-262 is running the same or a newer version of QTS than your TS-251+ was. Migration Mode: When you insert the drives into the TS-262, it should detect them and offer to import the existing storage pool/volumes. Just do not initialize the drives when prompted, as that would wipe the data. Backups First: If possible, always back up critical data before migrating, just in case. |
