Plex and NAS - Enquiries - 11-19-2024
Hello,
I'm looking to put all of my 4k, Blu-ray and DVDs on HDDs, as well as documents and photos in general. Looking at Plex as a solution for streaming it all to my 4k TV, phone and/or computer (5600x, 3070), with the focus on being the TV.
I'm looking at a 4-bay solution so I can use Raid 1 with 2x 8TB drives, with the option for expansion in the future. I know I'll need to transcode for my phone and computer use.
I want to keep the highest quality format for my 4k and Blu-ray movies, with as little to no loss at all in quality. With my main focus being keeping the highest quality available, I'm at a loss as to what I should go for. I'm comfortable building a small pc for the task, or going for a NAS product that I can just buy. The system will live in a closet. Also, I'm looking to go with 2.5Gbps.
