Synology DS216j - upgrade RAM or buy newer Synology (2bay)? - Enquiries - 02-14-2024

Hi,

I want to ask IF it's possible to upgrade RAM in Synology DS216j and which model you recommend. The current capacity is 512MB.

OR, maybe it's time to upgrade to the newer Synology (2-bay) device. Do you have any suggestions?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Petr

Unfortunately, the Synology DS216j doesn't support RAM upgrades since the memory is soldered onto the motherboard and isn't user-upgradable. If you're considering enhancing performance or need more storage capacity, it might be time to look into upgrading to a newer Synology NAS, such as the DS224+. This 2-bay NAS offers improved features and capabilities compared to the DS216j, with better hardware specifications and enhanced software functionalities.
