NAS for Plex server hosting 4K ripped blu ray - Enquiries - 02-09-2024 Hi, I would love some pointers as to which NAS to buy. I am looking to start ripping my 4K discs and setting up a Plex server. I have an Nividia Shield Pro 2019 which I will use to play back the files. I'm a bit confused as to which NAS I need, I've watched your videos and unsure as to whether I need a NAS with a Graphics Card. I'd like to go with Synology as I've seen a lot of good feedback around the UI. many thanks James RE: NAS for Plex server hosting 4K ripped blu ray - ed - 02-16-2024 For your 4K Blu-ray ripping and Plex server setup, considering your preference for Synology NAS with a user-friendly interface, the DS224+ and DS423+ could be solid choices. The DS224+ packs a punch with its Intel Celeron J4125 CPU, making it capable of handling Plex media streaming tasks efficiently. On the other hand, if you foresee expanding your media library and streaming needs in the future, the DS423+ with its quad-core Intel Celeron J4125 CPU might offer better scalability and performance headroom. Both models offer reliable media support and should serve you well for your 16TB storage requirement. |
