Replacing Dropbox - Enquiries - 01-04-2024 Hey there - I currently use Dropbox for my small team. We do quite a bit of video work, mostly broadcast with some editing. Currently I have a 30 TB limit at Dropbox and since its not unlimited any more I'm looking at alternatives since I'm full. There's probably quite a bit in there I don't really need, but always left because it didn't matter. We have a couple of locations we work from, where the NAS would be has 1 gig up and 1 gig down. The others are around 250-400 up and down. What direction should I head? RE: Replacing Dropbox - ed - 01-05-2024 Given your video-heavy workflow and the need for a solid Dropbox replacement, I'd recommend considering either the Synology DS224+ or DS423+. The DS224+ with its quad-core Intel Celeron J4125 and 2GB DDR4 non-ECC is a robust 2-bay option, perfect for handling flex transcode and offering features like active backup for business and VMs. On the other hand, if you foresee expanding your storage needs in the future, the DS423+ with its quad-core Intel Celeron J4125, 4-bay configuration, and transcoding engine might be a future-proof choice. It provides ample processing power with a Passmark score of 2982. These options strike a good balance between current requirements and potential future demands. https://nascompares.com/nas-builder/ |
