Hi,
Watched your review. Have selected DS923+. Want to build a media server. I have 4 WD 2TB Red drives that are on the compatibility list.
Question: Once I set up, will I be able to upgrade the drives 1 at a time as budget allows?

Hey there! Great choice with the Synology DS923+ for your media server. The good news is, yes, you can absolutely upgrade your drives one at a time as your budget allows. The DS923+ supports Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR), which allows you to mix and match drive capacities. So, starting with your existing 2TB WD Red drives is perfectly fine. When you're ready to expand, simply swap out one drive at a time with higher-capacity ones, and the system will automatically optimize the storage for you.
