4 Bay NAS and Plex server - Enquiries - 12-14-2023

I have a Plex Server with data on 2 external USBs, now I am planning to have a 4 bay NAS with 48TB Raid 5 based.

- My first question is whether Plex Server easily read media data hosted on NAS via ethernet cable or data drives should be directly connected to server (SATA, PCIE, USB) to Plex Server ?

- Second question is whether is there any NAS available which has network connectivity and as well as direct connectivity via USB C ?

Great choice on planning a 4-bay NAS for your Plex server. To address your questions:

Plex Server can easily read media data hosted on a NAS via Ethernet cable. Connecting the NAS directly to the server via SATA, PCIe, or USB is not necessary for Plex streaming. Ethernet connectivity is designed for efficient data transfer, and modern NAS devices are optimized for seamless media streaming over the network.
Qnap Thunderbolt models are the only ones that allow dual connection like this.
