Fast DAS With Hardware RAID - Enquiries - 11-11-2023

Looked at OWC ThunderBay 4 RAID 5 with Dual Thunderbolt 3 (but their SoftRAID XT is software and requires payment after warranty),
QNAP TR-004 (but connection is USB 3.2 Gen 1), and even QNAP TS-464-8G-US (yes, I know it's a NAS, but the money was about the same as the ThunderBay). Also looking for reliability. Synology was on the list, but their AMD chipset is concerning.

Certainly! When considering a fast DAS solution with hardware RAID under a budget of USD$600 for both business and home use with a storage requirement of 10-20 TB, there are several reliable options to explore. The QNAP TR-004, known for its efficient hardware RAID, stands out as a suitable choice. Additionally, the Pegasus, TerraMaster, Areca, and Netstor are worth considering for their hardware RAID capabilities, offering robust and reliable performance.
